Host Kevin Feenan and guest Alice Krueger will discuss current issues and trends surrounding the implications virtual experiences have for people with disabilities and the affordances that virtual reality opens new opportunities to redefine the question: “What is normal, anyway?”

Ms. Krueger is President of the nonprofit Virtual Ability, Inc., and the founder of the Virtual Ability community. As a woman with Multiple Sclerosis, she found it increasingly difficult to participate in her real life community as her disability progressed. No longer able to leave home to work, volunteer, or socialize with friends, she turned to virtual worlds to fulfil these basic human needs.

There will be a simultaneous live transcription.

Afterwards, at 5:00 PM, we will be moving to the George C. Dove Theatre for some dancing with DJ Selena! http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Rockcliffe%20I/178/97/23
